His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in witnessed the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between the governments of the two countries at the Blue House, the presidential Palace in Seoul before noon on Monday.

They witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the smart agriculture field between the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea that aims to develop the smart agriculture industry, cooperate in the field of agricultural research, transfer technology, and develop eco-friendly farming technology.

They also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for bilateral cooperation in the land transport sector between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea as well as a memorandum of understanding on fisheries and aquaculture cooperation between the Ministry of Municipalities and the Environment of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea to enhance the scientific and industrial cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture field.

In addition, HH The Amir and HE President of the Republic of Korea witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea on recognition of Certificates under Regulation 1/10 of International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW Convention); a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of vocational retraining and development of vocational skills between the General Authority of Customs of the State of Qatar and Customs Border Control Training Institute of the Republic of Korea; a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of smart networks, methods and techniques used between Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) including cooperation and exchange of expertise in smart city technologies, infrastructure of developed calibration and information technology, and a memorandum of understanding between Mwani Qatar and Busan Port Authority.

The signing ceremony was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HH The Amir.

From the Korean side, it was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the ministers and senior officials.
