The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Korea held a reception on Monday, December 16, 2024, on the occasion of the National Day.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Kang Do-hyung, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, as representative of the Korean government, in addition to His Excellency Mr. Park Sung-taek, first vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and His Excellency Mr. Park Jin, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and some members of the Parliament.

The ceremony was also attended by heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, heads of international organizations and agencies operating in Korea, a group of businessmen and representatives of Korean companies. A group of journalists and media professionals also participated in the ceremony, along with an elite group of public figures in various fields and, with the number of participants exceeding 500 people.

On this occasion, His Excellency Ambassador Khalid bin Ebrahim Al Hamar delivered a welcoming speech in which he reviewed the distinguished relations between the two countries in the political and commercial fields. His Excellency also praised the advanced level of these relations, which have reached the stage of strategic partnership on the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries.

For his part, His Excellency Kang Doo-hyung, representative of the Korean government, delivered a speech in which he congratulated the State of Qatar on the occasion of the National Day, and also spoke about the commonalities between the two countries, such as the ability to face various challenges and the success in organizing global events such as the 2002 World Cup in Korea and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

It is worth noting that the embassy held a photo exhibition during the reception, highlighting the bright aspects of the State of Qatar history and culture, in addition to the economic capabilities of the country and its clear achievements everywhere. This exhibition was met with great interest from the attendees. A video was also presented about the renaissance witnessed by the State of Qatar in recent years.
