H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs has reiterated Qatar endorsement of dialogue and rejection for any infringement of its sovereignty or any attempts to impose policies that counter the principles of the State.
In a symposium organized by the French Institute for International Relations on September 25th. he said that Qatar’s open and progressive policies on issues like women freedom & rights of education and participation in elections have annoyed some recluse countries and pushed them to blockade Qatar.
Addressing the Paris audience, HE the minister reiterated that Qatar is being falsely accused of supporting "terrorism" because of its independent policies have differed from those of the blockading nations.
He said that terrorism flourishes in closed, reclusive and repressive systems of governments that resort to force rather than rule of law a thing that impairs efforts to combat terrorism. He said that Qatar has been subjected to a propaganda war where the blockade countries have mobilized all their media sources including mosques against Qatar while they demand the shutting down of Aljazeera.
He emphasized that the resolve of these differences, needs to be through dialogue and discussion based on respecting choices and independence. He indicated Qatar’s support of the Kuwaiti mediation and added that Qatar has strong allies capable of keeping the blocking countries from any irresponsible acts.
